Welcome to my World: I’m Lulu

Hi there! I’m Lulu, also known to the world at large as one of many Laura Polks. Lulu’s a childhood nickname and, as I like having a more exotic moniker when I’m blogger/writer (as opposed to momma/wife), I adopted it for my creative endeavors. I’m a native of the Midwest, now residing with my husband John, son Luca and daughter Farah (+ Shrek the idiot(dog)) in Arizona. I am also a delightful blend of mixed heritage, dominated by Lebanese through and through. With my family I enjoy cooking, travel, hiking, art museums, our neighborhood library as well as chocolate covered donuts (with sprinkles) on Saturdays. Lulu is the name I use for my blog – www.lulusjubilee.com – a site founded on the principle that life is best celebrated! Here I’ve been posting on food, lifestyle, beauty, travel and other such activities that I feel passionately about.

I love my blog and seek to use it so to provide a platform that connects with the greater good of humanity. Through the sharing of my own personal narrative, I hope to connect and align with the positive parts of life that impact all of us. The great feedback I’ve had from readers of Lulu’s Jubilee has encouraged me to write a cook book: my very first! Can you even believe it?? I’m a foodie – yes, out and proud – and so it seems are many of my readers. What then could be better than to gather a couple of dozen of my favorite recipes and share them with you? I’ve done this alongside plenty of backstory about my family and upbringing so to give you, dear reader, an idea of where I come from and what inspired me to cook the way I do. This is a work in progress and I hope to be able to share it soon.

I immensely enjoy writing this blog – and cooking each recipe so to ensure I get it perfect for you guys! – and I sincerely hope you enjoy reading it when finished…. eventually (and then cooking the recipes that ring your bell). So, here goes – welcome to my world!
